MACHINE ASSESSMENT AND VALIDATION
We understand machines and we'll make sure you understand them too. We are a team of safety technicians and engineers whose main job is to take care of the safety of machinery.
What is risk analysis?
Risk analysis is the basis for assessing conformity (CE certification) for machines according to NV 176/2008 Coll. and electrical devices according to NV 118/2016 Coll. or every time you intervene in important parameters of the machine or device.
What is a risk assessment?
Risk analysis is the basic pillar for creating a risk assessment. It is only through risk assessment that it is decided whether risk reduction is required on the machinery and how to reduce these risks.
The risk assessment by our company includes the identification and evaluation of the risks of your machinery with the proposal of all measures to ensure the safety of the equipment according to applicable standards.
Why? Because risk assessment is directly required by the Engineering Directive (2006/42/EC), which is implemented into the Czech legal system by Government Regulation 176/2008 Coll. (see Appendix 7). Creating only a risk analysis does not fulfil the legislative requirements.
When creating risk assessments, we work with harmonized standards:
ČSN EN ISO 12100:2011, which specifies the basic terminology, principles and methodology for achieving safety in the construction of machinery. The standard specifies the principles of risk assessment and mitigation to achieve this goal.
ČSN EN ISO 13849-1:2017, which deals with the construction and assessment of safety management and control systems and specifies safety requirements and guidelines for the principles of construction and integration of safety parts of control systems, including software design.
What is the output of the risk assessment?
- description of the machinery
- determining the limit values of machinery
- specifications of directives and standards applicable to your device
- hazard identification
- delimiting the use of the device such as operating modes, who can use the device
- delimitation of spaces, limits, requirements for operation, maintenance
- risk assessment
- definition of safety functions for the given machinery
- risk assessment
- proposal of a solution to eliminate deficiencies
Operated machinery
- for operating machinery with an older production date, we carry out an inspection in accordance with Government Regulation 378/2001 Coll.
- we will propose the provision of minimum safety requirements, instructions, documentation
What are the minimum documents we need to provide for the request?
- facility name
- description of device function, description of control
- photo or video function of the device (view photos from all sides)
- relevant diagrams – electrical, pneumatic, etc.
What happens if you don't have a risk assessment?
- you do not meet the legal requirements given by the engineering directive and adopted NV CR No. 176/2008 Coll.
- you do not know the risks of the machinery in question
- in insurance event, due to failure to meet legislative requirements for the operation of machinery, the insurance premium may be reduced
- fatal personal injury may occur
- a fine from the Czech Trade Inspection in the amount of up to CZK 50,000,000
How long does the whole process take?
The deadline is determined based on the current workload of our team, then according to the size and complexity of the equipment. By default, the development of a risk assessment of a standard device is a matter of a few days. Everything is, of course, conditional on the cooperation of the customer and the delivery of documents, operated device, MPBP, local certificate, 12 100, EMC.
