Operated machinery and obligations according to NV 378/2001 Coll.

According to Government Regulation No. 378/2001 Coll. (NV 378) every machine in operation must meet certain minimum requirements for safe operation. This legislation applies to all machinery, whether CE marked and EC declaration of conformity or not. It is crucial that the security of the equipment is maintained at the level that was established when it was first put into operation.

For machinery in operation, it is essential to carry out regular inspections at least once every 12 months. These inspections also include revisions of electrical parts of machinery, which is not only an obligation according to NV 378, but also a key step to ensure safety in the workplace.

What should I do if I have defects on the machinery?

Ensure compliance with NV 378/2001 Coll. can be challenging, especially if it is older non-CE marked machinery. But we can help you not only with the administrative side of things, but also with the technical aspects. On the basis of a comprehensive risk assessment, we propose the reconstruction or addition of safety measures so that your machinery meets all legal requirements. We can also implement the proposed measures for you on a so-called turnkey basis.

Is it really necessary to do a review according to NV 378 every year?

4 Government Regulation No. 378/2001 Coll., part 2)

(2) The device must be equipped with operational documentation. The follow-up inspection must be carried out at least once every 12 months to the extent specified by the local operational safety regulation, unless a special legal regulation, or accompanying documentation or standard values, stipulates the scope and frequency of follow-up inspections otherwise.

The benefits of regular inspections of your machines according to NV 378
Machinery operators should pay particular attention to regular inspections and revisions. Government Regulation 378/2001 Coll. in §4 clearly states that every piece of machinery must have operational documentation, which includes, among other things, a record of the last revision. This documentation is key to proving the safe operation of the equipment, not only for the needs of internal audits, but also in the event of an inspection by state authorities.

We offer you support in the area of regular revisions and checks, including the development of all necessary protocols according to current standards

Our services include:

  1. Revision of electrical equipment – Verification of the safety of the electrical power supply to machinery according to the standards ČSN 33 1500 and ČSN 33 2000-6 ed.

  2. Follow-up (regular) inspections – We carry out regular inspections of the machinery to the extent specified by the operational documentation or local operational safety regulations.

  3. Reconstruction and addition of safety measures - Based on the results of audits and risk assessment, we propose technical measures to ensure that your machinery continues to function safely.

Why is it important to comply with NV 378?

Failure to comply with Government Regulation No. 378/2001 Coll. can lead to serious consequences, including endangering the health of employees and financial penalties for the operator. It is therefore crucial that machinery is regularly inspected and that all documentation complies with legislative requirements.
